About FKF
FKF (Free Knowledge Foundation) is a non-governamental organisation, non for profit, funded in 2004, seated in Madrid, Spain. Our objective is promoting and defending Free Knowledge, and the people's right to experience, study, propagate, modify, and redistribute knowledge.
FKF is commited to the promotion of Free Knowledge, Free Software and Free Standards.
Our work regarding Free Software is tightly related to that of the GNU project, as well as the Free Software Foundation (FSF), Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE), Free software Foundation Latin America (FSFLA) and Free Software Foundation Índia (FSFI)
Vision
Where we want to go
Access to knowledge determines our degree of participation in society today. Software and electronic transmission/storage standards are increasingly important, too. Thus, the liberty to experience, study, modify and propagate knowledge and software are key components of a free society.
FKF helps building a situation in which these freedoms associated to knowledge and software are granted for everyone.

Among the inmediate objectives of the FKF are:
- Generate new projects about Free Knowledge, Free software and Free Standards.
- Help similar already-stablished projects in legal, economic and social terms.
- Bring and deploy the concept of Free Knowledge in the Education institutions, its constitutions and bylaws, and assess the Education decision-making bodies.
- Introducing and deploying Free Software, Free Knowledge and Free Standards in the Public Administration.
- Promote Free Software, Free Knowledge and Free Standards legaly and in the Public Adminsitration.
- Build a network of people, companies and organisations to support Free Software and Free Knowledge in society.
